The Greater Derry Humane Society is currently engaged in a legal fight to keep two beautiful dogs. Alice and Anzlo have been in our care for the last two years after being seized from an owner in Derry who was subsequently charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and negligence. The dogs were full of fleas and worms, and had skin problems. Alice also had infected ears which had gone untreated for quite some time. They were being forced to live in filth without adequate food and water. We nursed both dogs back to health and they are currently living happy, safe lives in their loving foster homes. But the court has decided that the dogs should be returned to the owner.
Please help us to try to keep these dogs from going back to the horrible living situation that they were in. Click HERE to read more and to donate to our legal fund.
Thank you from Alice and Anzlo!
** We are in need of foster homes for our rescued animals **
Captain is a very laid back 3-4 year old Bulldog mix who can be quite a couch potato! He is very friendly and is always wagging his tail. Captain would be happiest in a home without young children. He loves adults and likes dogs that aren't dominant. He likes walks but really doesn't require much more exercise than a walk or two a day or a fenced yard to play catch in. He has been in doggie training and knows lots of commands! He would be perfect for a family that has the time to keep up with his training.
The mission of the Greater Derry Humane Society is to promote the humane care and treatment of all animals. Our goal is to reduce the suffering of animals through education, rescue, and support, and to work collaboratively with other organizations.
