Alter Your Pet!

Please Alter Your Pet!

The U.S. pet birth rate is 5,000 per hour Millions of cats and dogs are in pounds, shelters, and foster homes, waiting for a family to adopt them. 20 million pets are killed each year simply because there are not enough homes for them. There are countless strays that survive just long enough to bring more strays into the already-overpopulated world.

The answer is simple - ALTER YOUR PET. Every animal born uses up a home for one that is already in a pound, shelter, or foster home. Don't be part of the problem - be part of the solution! Please take action - spay or neuter your pet - and encourage others to do so as well!

Please review our brochure with up-to-date Spay/Neuter Information

Did You Know ...

In addition to helping pet overpopulation, spaying/neutering your pet has direct benefits for both you and your pet, be it a cat, dog, or rabbit:
  • Spaying/neutering reduces or eliminates the risk of several type of cancers, including testicular/prostate cancer in males and mammary/reproductive cancer in females.
  • Spaying/neutering leads to lower levels of aggression (especially in males) that make your pet easier to manage and more relaxed, and reduce behavioral issues such as spraying and defending territory.
  • Spaying/neutering gives your pet better general health, more happiness, and a longer life.

Low-Cost Alternatives

The State of New Hampshire supports the spaying/neutering of pets. If you adopted your pet from a shelter, receive government aid, or have a pregnant cat, you may be eligible for a low-cost spay/neuter.
