Basic Dog Training Classes
A dog may be "man's best friend", but dogs - like people - need socialization in their lives.
Training is an opportunity to meet fellow pet owners and give your dog a chance to "bone up"
on his or her sitting and staying skills at the same time.
The course provides much more than basic instruction. The six-week class covers:
- Grooming
- Body language
- Behavioral modification
- Acquainting your dog with new situations
- Control in your absence
- Discipline
- Walking on a leash
- Staying and recall
- Nutrition
- Basic dog medical knowledge
There is also individual evaluation and discussion of any canine bad habits.

To ensure individual attention, the class is limited to 12 dogs. Owners must accompany their pets to the weekly sessions!
Dogs should be at least 6 months old and must be current on all vaccinations.
Pre-registration is required. You can

$75 for the first session; repeats are $25.
All dogs adopted from GDHS receive training as part of the adoption fee!

Class Schedule For 2010
Classes are tentatively scheduled to begin in March.
Classes are held from 7:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Salty Lane Farm in Derry, NH. Please call and check for space availability prior to registration.
